Fredericksburg Rape Defense Lawyers

What Is Rape?

According to VA Code ยง 18.2-61, Rape is defined as engaging in sexual intercourse with any other person, regardless if there is an existing spousal relationship, and it's:

  • against the person's will, by the use of force, threat or intimidation;
  • or if the person is mentally incapable or physically helpless and cannot give consent; or
  • with a child under age 13 as the victim.

If you have been arrested or are under investigation for rape charges, you should remain as calm as possible. Please call Cornick Ndlovu, PLC as soon as possible to discuss what you know, what you think you are accused of, and what the next steps should be. In many cases it makes sense to refuse to make a statement, especially when it comes to investigations or questions being directed to you, but in other cases we recommend early and earnest cooperation with the investigation. We can talk about that in private, without judgment, and without the possibility of sending the wrong message to people who may wish to see you locked up.

Contact Cornick Ndlovu, PLC for dedicated representation in and out of the courtroom.
