Fredericksburg Juvenile & Domestic Relations
If your child has been charged or you are an adult who has been charged in the City of Fredericksburg with a crime against a family member, your case will most likely start in the Fredericksburg Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court. The courthouse is located at the following address:
615 Princess Anne Street
Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401
It is across the street from the Post Office.
Dockets are handled by the Honorable Joseph A. Vance, IV, though on some days, cases may be heard by substitute judges as schedules dictate.
Street parking is available, as is a parking garage at 600 Sophia Street. Phones are not allowed in the court and the Sheriff's staff will not watch your phone for you. Your possessions will be x-rayed and you will have to pass through a metal detector before you will be granted access to the courtroom. They will check you in and direct you to a waiting area for your case to be called. You should not enter the courtroom until your case is called.
Shorts and hats are not allowed in the courtroom. You should also not have any sunglasses on your head. You are not allowed to put your hands in your pockets while you are before the court.
